Melodic death metal band The Halo effect are set to release their debut album “Days of the Lost” on August 12 via Nuclear Blast Records.

The group, made up of five former members of In firerecently played their first show at the Sweden Rock Festival and will embark on an extensive European tour with machine head and Amon Amarth in autumn.

In a recent interview with Tomar Uma, Mikael Stanne says The Halo Effect is a serious band, not just a side project.

“It’s definitely a new band. It started as a project or an idea, but because of the time we had, I think we made it into a real band and we want to treat it like that because we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can to make it as good as possible. We want to tour; we want to do cool festivals. And we’re already starting to plan more recordings and the next album and that kind of stuff. So everybody’s just excited. And because it felt good and we were on a roll… You really can’t hold back Niclas and Jesper once they started. So they already started writing new stuff. Let’s keep going. It’s going to be a lot of work the next two years, that’s for sure.
