BTS scores four of the 10 best-selling songs in the United States of 2021, with “Butter” at number one

Music lovers don’t buy music like they used to, as millions have turned to streaming services to consume the tunes they can’t get enough of. As sales plummet every year, one act has once again demonstrated that they have the power to convince the masses to buy their latest singles in greater numbers than anyone else in the business by dominating the list of the best-selling titles in the country in 2021.

BTS claims four spots in the top 10 on BillboardYear-end ranking of the top-selling songs in the United States in 2021. Surprisingly, they are the only act to appear in the highest level with more than a single cut, and they also occupy the pair of positions the most higher on the count.

South Korean band’s “Butter” leads the way, coming in at No. 1. While Billboard didn’t release specific numbers, it’s likely the catchy pop cut will outpace all other titles by a significant margin, as the former Hot 100 leader sold at least 100,000 copies in several weeks. Hot on the heels of this success is their 2020 release “Dynamite”, which was also a sales juggernaut when it arrived months before 2021 even started.

It’s no shock that BTS’ two biggest hits end up as high as them, as they both made digital song sales chart history at their peak. ‘Dynamite’ currently holds the record for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on this buy count alone, with 18, while ‘Butter’ is tied for second place, with 17 runs at the top spot.

The same group also appears at issues #5 and #10 with their own “Permission to Dance” and Coldplay collab “My Universe”, respectively. All four BTS singles that appear on this year-end tally debuted atop the Hot 100, thanks in large part to impressive opening sales sums.

Country newcomer Walker Hayes lands at No. 3 with his hit “Fancy Like,” and he’s followed closely by Dua Lipa with her Hot 100 monster “Levitating.” Further down the chart, but still in the top 10, are hit songs by new artists such as Masked Wolf (“Astronaut in the Ocean”, No. 6), The Weeknd (“Blinding Lights”, No. 7 ), Ed Sheeran (“Bad Habits”, No. 8) and Silk Sonic, the duo of superstars Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak (“Leave the Door Open”, No. 10).
