Ed Sheeran Covid Positive: British singer Ed Sheeran tests Covid-positive, says he will continue to perform from home

Popular British singer Ed Sheeran has tested positive for Covid-19 but the musician has said he will continue to perform from home.

In an Instagram post on Sunday, the singer shared his diagnosis of Covid-19.

“Hi guys. Just a quick note to let you know that I have unfortunately tested positive for Covid so I am now self-isolating and following government guidelines,” the singer-songwriter posted.

“This means that I am now unable to move forward with in-person engagements at this time, so I will be doing as many interviews/performances as I can from home. My apologies to anyone I have let down. Be safe everyone,” Sheeran wrote.

The 30-year-old singer was scheduled to appear as a guest on “Saturday Night Live” on November 6. He also had several concert dates planned across the UK and Europe, which are due to start from April 2022.

Sheeran said he will continue to work while self-isolating, but promotional activities around his 4th studio album “=”, which will be released on October 29, will likely be affected, Variety reported.

This is his first full solo album since 2017’s blockbuster “Divide.”

Sheeran has tested positive for COVID-19 at a time when the UK is seeing a rise in cases. In the past seven days, 328,287 people have tested positive, with 949 deaths and 6,720 hospital admissions, according to official government figures cited by the website.
