NEW YORK – A series of haunting songs appeared on missing New York women Gabby Petito Spotify on September 1, a day after her mother last received text messages from her phone.
Most of the songs, collected from an account she seemed to share with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, focus on love and heartbreak.

Petito, 22, and Laundrie, 23, an engaged hiker couple active on social media, were traveling the United States in a white Ford Transit van, which police recovered as part of their investigation into his disappearance. The FBI began a forensic examination of the vehicle on Tuesday, North Port Police told Fox News.
She was last seen in late August at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, according to police, and she was reported missing over the weekend after her parents had not heard from her for a week.

According to the police chief, the two men were involved in some sort of incident on August 12 in Moab, Utah, but the officers who responded found no evidence of a crime.
“Neither Brian nor Gabrielle was the rapporteur,” Chief Bret Edge said Tuesday evening.
He returned to Florida in his van without her and hasn’t publicly explained why – prompting his parents to ask him to explain where he last saw her.
“The Schmidt and Petito family are pleading with Brian to come forward and at least tell us if we’re looking in the right area,” his parents said in a joint statement Tuesday night.

Laundrie has not been charged with a felony or charged with playing a role in Petito’s disappearance. Police in North Port, Florida called the case “strange” and said they wanted to speak to Laundrie.
“I think anyone would assume that the last possible person around is someone of interest to talk to,” a North Port Police spokesperson told Fox News Tuesday. “However, there is no crime at this point.”
New York and Florida missing persons authorities did not respond to requests for comment on Spotify activity
In a statement on Tuesday, Laundrie lawyer Steven Bertolino said his client’s family hoped Petito would be found and reunited with his parents. He did not respond to repeated questions about the couple’s breakup.
“On behalf of the Laundrie family, we hope that the search for Miss Petito will be successful and that Miss Petito will be reunited with her family,” said Bertolino. “On the advice of the lawyer, the Laundrie family remain in the background at this point and will have no further comment.”
Authorities described the missing Petito as white, measuring around 5 feet 5 inches and weighing around 110 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, and several tattoos, including one on her finger and one on her forearm that says “let it be”.
Petito and Laundrie began their journey on July 2 and the mother of the missing woman told a press conference on Monday that they had been in regular contact until the last week of August.
“The last text I received from her was on August 30,” said Petito’s mother Nichole Schmidt. “I don’t know if she was the one texting me or not.”
On August 19, the couple posted an eight-minute video of their trip across the country to their YouTube account, visiting landmarks and beaches, camping, playing games, and smiling in an idyllic montage that seemed mostly recorded on the Western coast.
