Anne-Marie is looking for a new type “a ** hole” to write songs on.
The hitmaker “Rockabye” is looking for romances, whether heartbreaking or not, to inspire new lyrics after a “break” in music.
Speaking to the Wired column of the Daily Star newspaper, the 30-year-old singer said: “I actually took a break for the very first time. I just realized that I hadn’t stopped writing for maybe seven years. But after the release of the second album, I needed to find what the next idea was, to live and experience ** holes! “
The ‘Ciao Adios’ singer – whose second LP ‘Therapy’ was released in July 2021 – made a vow to become more independent in 2022 because her anxiety kept her from doing many things others take for granted.
Anne-Marie said: “I made it my mission to do something on my own, because I have never done anything on my own – travel. I didn’t go to the stores alone, I didn’t do anything because I’m so scared!
The pop star – who released her debut album “Speak Your Mind” in 2018 – was held back by “fear of making mistakes” and so chose to start with a night out at the Savoy Theater production of “Pretty Woman”.
She said: “It was the fear of doing things wrong so I decided to go to the theater on my own and watch a show in the West End.
“I went online and booked the tickets on my own which sounds so stupid but I had never done that.”
Anne-Marie admits seeing the stage musical adaptation of the 1990 romantic film that starred Julia Roberts and Richard Gere was a “really cool day” because of the milestone it represented for her.
