But I gotta wake up one another day and another one and the other” – hopefully. And second, I wake up in SKID RANKas lead singer of SKID RANK. And I said to myself that I would continue to sing for the rest of my life, and I have the privilege of doing so in this group. And I also think there’s a lot of… I’m a little pissed off [laughs] about last year. But it’s just that I find a kind of aggressiveness. It’s just, like, ‘Fuck, I hate what I’ve been through but it made me stronger, and I’m going to make this voice count if it’s the last thing I do.’ I think I’m just more aware of the here and now, and when I’m recording my voice, that’s the only thing that matters. And I’m going to do it all with all my heart – just save it and give it my all until I can’t do it anymore. »
Erikwho joined the group earlier this year replacing PZ Théartpreviously reflected on his March 2021 acute lymphoblastic leukemia diagnosis in an interview with Australia May the rock be with you. He said: “I think a lot of my values have – it didn’t change much when I got sick, but it intensified in a lot of ways.
“Something that’s always stuck with me, I guess, is the fact that I really enjoy waking up every day so I can do whatever I want with my time.
“I did this for many years without making any money. If I was there for the money, I wouldn’t be here doing this now,” he revealed.
“I was saying scotti [Hill, SKID ROW guitarist] and Rob [Hammersmith, SKID ROW drummer] one morning when we had breakfast. I was, like, ‘This is so weird because I’m here having a good time, and then I come home and realize, ‘Oh, I can send an invoice.’ [Laughs] You don’t really feel like you’re working; it’s like you’re doing what you love. And then you realize, ‘Oh, I’m really making money now doing this.’ And it’s just breathtaking and it makes me feel so privileged to be here as the lead singer.
“So this value, this thing of doing this just because I like it, just because it makes me so happy, that’s always been with me throughout my career,” Erik Noted.
“We all have bad days. All jobs come with bad days. But that’s why I keep going, because I love it. It’s my passion.”
