Ancient SAMSON singer Nicki Moore died at the age of 75.
Moore died Wednesday morning (August 3) after battling Parkinson’s disease.
Moorethe death of has been confirmed on his official website Facebook page.
“It is with immense sadness and almost unbearably heavy hearts that we must all let you know that Nicky – a man larger than life in body and mind – sadly passed away this morning,” a statement read. “A man who has lived a thousand lives in one decided he needed rest. Rest well dear friend. We will all miss you x”.
Moore famous joined SAMSON as lead singer in 1981 after the departure of Bruce Dickinsonwho had gone to join IRON MAIDEN. Moore left SAMSON in the late 1980s and joined in the late 1990s.
After his first departure from SAMSON, Moore sang in the band MAMMOTHwhich also included former GILLAN bass player John McCoy. MAMMOTH released two albums before disbanding in 1989.
In 2006, Moore teams up with the old NAZARETH guitarist Manny Charton and three musicians from the Swedish group LOCOMOTIVE BREATH save an album under the name of the group FROM BEHIND. The band performed at Swedish rock festival that same year.
Since 1994, Moore worked with his own group, NICKY MOORE AND THE BLUES CORPORATIONwho were voted “Top Live Blues Band” by BBC Radio 2 listeners in the year 2000.
