Paramore has announced that “This Is Why” will be the lead single from their long-awaited sixth studio album. Everything we know about Paramore’s upcoming new album.

Calling all Paramore fans – the new music drought may be over soon!

It’s been over five years since Paramore released their last album. After the laughbut that’s all about to change, thanks to mysterious events with the band’s online presence and the confirmation of new single “This Is Why.”

Last November, Hayley Williams confirmed that Paramore would return with new music in 2022 after their hiatus. Fast forward to September 2022, and the band have deleted all of their old Instagram posts and uploaded a new profile picture.

There was also an update to their official site, where a cryptic timetable with mysterious words next to certain dates appeared. Next to September 19, they wrote “start spreading the news”, while September 9 and 12 wrote “LA” and “wr0ng” next to them. Is it a tracklist, a release schedule, a hint?!

When will Paramore’s next album be released?

Paramore has yet to confirm a new release date for the album, but there are a few hints as to when we can expect new music.

The @hasitleaked Twitter account, which posts rumors of upcoming releases, tweeted on August 30 that we could expect a new single in September. This has now been confirmed, as the group will release their debut single, “This Is Why”, on September 28.

On September 9, a snippet of a new song was also shared on Paramore’s Discord in which singer Hayley Williams appears to sing: “Bored, I’m bored, so bored, from the frontline / Bien au contra, je suis safe inside.” It matches the word “wr0ng” on the band’s website timeline, with fans thinking it could be the title of the new song. It could also be “That’s Why.”

There are two dates on the calendar that have nothing written next to them – September 16 and September 28. We now know that September 16 was the date they were going to announce the new single, “This Is Why”, and September 28 was the single’s release date.

What will Paramore’s new album be called?

Although the band is providing us with information, one thing we are still unclear about is the name of the new album. More info on this as soon as we have it.

Have any song names been confirmed yet? Is there a tracklist?

On September 16, Paramore announced that the first single from the new album would be called “This is Why”. The song is available for pre-save now and will be released on September 28.

So far, “This Is Why” is the only confirmed song title. However, fans are wondering if any of those words from their website timeline — like “empty” or “wr0ng” — might be related to the track listing in some way. Watch this place!

What will Paramore’s new album look like?

We don’t yet know exactly what it will sound like, but Hayley has previously confirmed that it will be more rock-centric than their last album.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, she says“Our release has always been everywhere and with this project, it’s not that different. We are still in the thick of it but some things have remained constant since the beginning. 1) More guitar emphasis, and 2) Zac should get as Animal as he wants with drum takes.”

Then, in an interview in July, Hayley revealed that Paramore’s new album had been influenced by Bloc Party.

“From day one, Bloc Party was the number one benchmark because there was such an urgency to their sound that was different from fast punk or pop punk or whatever, the loud wall of emo sonic bands that performed at the early 2000s, “she said.

“They had their own thing and it was so unique and dynamic, and it really stuck with us. And I’m really, really grateful for this band, I’m so grateful that they’re back, they’re playing shows, they’re releasing great songs, and it makes me even more excited to get back out into the world, and maybe bump into the path of the band that has been a big part of our story since day one,” she added.
