The Philadelphia Orchestra and Marching Band Snacktime both released their own covers of Swedish singer Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” ahead of Friday night’s World Series game.
The Phillies will face the Houston Astros tonight. So, to thrill Phillies fans, the orchestra and marching band performed their own renditions of the team’s unofficial playoff anthem.
“Dancing On My Own” became the team anthem when the Phillies sang the 2010 hit in the locker room recently in a viral video.
“Before we knew it was going to be the Phillies’ playoff anthem, we recorded ‘Dancing On My Own’ for my girlfriend’s birthday,” Snacktime band member and co-founder Sam Gellerstein said in A press release. “After the locker room video went viral, I quickly realized that this song was definitely going to stay in our repertoire, and sadly couldn’t be a birthday surprise anymore.”
