‘Cold Heart’ tops hot dance / electronic songs

“Cold Heart”, from John’s Collaborative Collection Containment sessions (released October 22), mixes four of his classics from the 1970s and 1980s, including “Rocket Man” and “Sacrifice”. The track also climbs from 32 to 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, where John claims his best ranking since March 1998.

“This is in large part, of course, due to the popularity of Dua Lipa and the brilliant remix of Pnau,” John said recently. Billboard of the song’s success. “But I feel very, very happy and happy to be relevant.”

“Cold Heart” also tops the Dance / Electronic Digital Song Sales chart for a ninth image and continues to evolve Dance / Mix Show Airplay (3-2) and Radio Songs (47-34), among other climbs including her crowning glory on the UK Singles Chart official website.

The song is the fourth track to reach its first week at the top of Hot Dance / Electronic Songs in 2021, following, chronologically, “Goosebumps” by Travis Scott and HVME (19 weeks at the top); Regard, “You” by Troye Sivan and Tate McRae (eight); and “Pepas” by Farruko (new).

Elsewhere, Rain Radio and DJ Craig Gorman each won their first Top 10 Dance / Mix Show Airplay with “Talk About” (13-10). The track attracts core-dance waves, notably on Music Choice’s Dance / EDM Channel, KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco and KNHC (C89.5) Seattle. (The Dance / Mix Show Airplay graph measures radio broadcast on a select group of full-time dance stations, as well as plays performed on mixed shows on nearly 80 top 40 reporters.)
